It is having its third revival, not its first: 1920s Art Deco, the mid-century modernist floor, and now a 2026 return driven by large-chip and colour-forward mixes. A cement-bound terrazzo takes its colour from the binder and the pigment: 3 to 6 per cent pigment by weight of cement, from alkali- and light-resistant mineral pigments. A resin-bound terrazzo is not limited that way — the resin can be tinted, which is why bold colour is usually an epoxy floor rather than a cement one.
By the system first and the look second. The chip cannot exceed two thirds of the topping thickness, and within that the size is chosen for how the surface will behave: fine aggregate grinds flatter and holds a tighter surface, large aggregate reads as a statement and leaves deeper pockets. A mix is graded across sizes rather than single-sized.
How this is actually asked
These are the phrasings people typed, not headings we invented. Where one
has an answer the link is live; where it does not it is printed plain, and
that is deliberate — a printed question with nothing behind it is an
honest promise, and hiding it is not.
