What is a realistic care routine for a terrazzo floor?

Neutral pH detergent, and nothing else. That single rule covers a sealed cement floor, an epoxy floor and a precast panel: an acid cleaner attacks a cement matrix and dulls a resin one, and neither can be undone with a stronger product. The rest is frequency, and frequency follows traffic rather than a calendar.

The figures, and where each one comes from

How often What
Daily in a busy building dry or damp mop, nothing abrasive
Weekly neutral pH detergent, no grit
As needed spill response; acid spills are the emergency, not oil
On a cycle set by the grade re-seal a cement floor, and the interval follows the absorption class and the wear, not the date

Why the processes are not interchangeable

Terrazzo is maintained rather than cleaned, and the difference is the sealer. A sealed floor can be washed with detergent because the sealer is what stops the water and the dirt; an unsealed one cannot, and every wet clean on it is a permanent change. Which is why the care schedule is not a list of products but a statement about the surface: the routine is cheap if the floor was sealed properly and expensive if it was not, and by the time a floor is in use the difference has already been paid for.

What these figures are, and what they are not

This page describes materials and cleaning chemistry. ⛔ No product is named, no interval is given, and no cost appears. ⛔ We sell no cleaning product: send a photograph and we will tell you which of the two situations you are in before you buy anything.

If you are specifying this

We have not published products against this question yet. Send us the process, thickness and quantity and we will quote it against what we can actually form, rather than against a catalogue.
