Overlaid onto an existing substrate — a laminate top replaces the old slab without the demolition a 20 mm cast top needs. At 8 mm the panel is thin enough to go over a sound substrate and thick enough to be edge-finished; at 12 mm it carries a mitred edge or a bullnose without reinforcement. The decision variable is the substrate: it has to be flat, sound and continuous, and we ask what is under it before we quote. Cut-outs are counted, because a hole is a mitred internal corner and three holes are a different product from none.
